Saudi Arabia Saad Sells $650 Million Islamic Bond; Nation's Second Largest
(Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabia's Saad Trading Contracting & Financial Services Co., owned by billionaire Maan al-Sanea, sold $650 million of Islamic bonds, the second-largest sale of such securities by a company from the nation.

Apple unveils plans to go greener
(Reuters) - "Today is the first time we have openly discussed our plans to become a greener Apple," Jobs wrote. "I was surprised to learn that in many cases Apple is ahead of, or will soon be ahead of, most of its competitors in these areas."

Northam Platinum loses $3.4 mln in strike
(Reuters) - South African platinum miner Northam Platinum Ltd has lost 24 million rand in revenue because of a strike at its mine near Thabazimbi which started on April 29, it said on Thursday.

Dollar rises to 2-mo high vs yen after ISM services
(Reuters) - The dollar rose to a two-month high against the yen on Thursday, after a report showed U.S. services sector activity grew stronger than expected in April, easing some concerns about slowing economic growth.
The dollar strengthened to around 120.38 yen, up 0.1 percent on the day and less than half a yen away from highs last seen on February 27 when a wave of risk aversion boosted the Japanese currency.

South African Beef, Veal Production Climbs to Highest in 25 Years
(Bloomberg) -- South African beef and veal production rose to the highest in at least 25 years in 2006 as the increasing wealth of the country's black majority boosted consumption.
