Indonesian Rupiah Strengthens to Four-Month High; Taiwan Dollar Weakens

(Bloomberg) -- Indonesia's rupiah strengthened to the highest since January as overseas investors increased purchases of the nation's stocks and bonds.

The rupiah had the biggest gain in six weeks as the country's equity index rose to a record and 10-year bonds gained for a 14th day. The central bank sees a ``strong possibility'' of an interest-rate cut next week, Deputy Governor Hartadi Sarwono said, spurring speculation lower borrowing costs will help boost economic growth.
