FACTBOX: Trade between South Korea and the U.S.

(Reuters) - ECONOMIC SIZE AND TRADE VOLUME

Two-way goods trade totaled more than $71.5 billion in 2005, with South Korea having a surplus of more than $16 billion.

JGBs dip on profit-taking as new fin. year starts

(Reuters) - The March tankan showed the headline diffusion index for big manufacturers' sentiment stood at plus 23, slightly lower than the reading of plus 25 in the December survey and just short of the market's median forecast of plus 24.

The index for June was seen at plus 20, showing big manufacturers are slightly less positive about conditions over the next three months.

RPT-IPO VIEW-First quarter U.S. IPO volume ahead of 2006 pace

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, April 1 - Despite shake-ups that sent stock markets around the world into tailspins and recent initial public offering stumbles, first-quarter volume for new issues in the United States outpaced the year-ago period.

After the slide of China's main market in February and the acceleration of the subprime mortgage market's woes in the following weeks, the Dow Jones industrial average sank from a lifetime peak reached earlier this year and remains down about 3 percent from that peak.
