(Reuters) - Minutes from the Fed's last meeting hinted at the need for more interest-rate hikes. Citigroup Inc. helped pull down the Dow after the big U.S. banking company said it will eliminate 17,000 jobs, or 5 percent of its work force.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 116.45 points, or 0.93 percent, at 12,457.40. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 12.24 points, or 0.85 percent, at 1,436.15. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 25.31 points, or 1.02 percent, at 2,452.30.
