ISE seen as next possible options exchange target

(Reuters) - Nasdaq Stock Market , the top U.S. electronic stock exchange, is in talks to buy the regional Philadelphia exchange, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site on Tuesday, citing unidentified sources. Both Nasdaq and the Philadelphia exchange declined to comment.

"The talk we are hearing this morning is that following the news about the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, other options exchanges may be targets as well," said Pete Najarian, co-founder of Web information site optionmonster.com.
