(Reuters) - The move to reevaluate the so-called "slab cases" should result in more payments for wind-related damage on a significant number of claims along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, the Mississippi Insurance Commissioner's office said.
"This voluntary offer is an attempt to resolve some of the most difficult-to-adjust claims by proposing a reasonable payment to impacted policyholders rather than investing time and money on less effective options," said Nationwide spokesman Joe Case.
