(Bloomberg) -- Ivory Coast, the world's biggest cocoa grower, expects production from its second harvest of the season to drop as much as 30 percent because of drier-than- normal weather, a government official said.
The so-called mid-crop, gathered from April to September, may yield between 280,000 and 300,000 metric tons, down from 400,000 metric tons last year, according to an official at the state-run Bourse du Cacao et Café in Abidjan. The official asked not to be identified because he isn't authorized to speak to reporters.
