European Gasoil Is Little Changed Amid Disruption to North Sea Oil Output

(Bloomberg) -- European gasoil prices were little
changed near seasonal highs as disruption to production in the
North Sea cut crude supplies to refineries in Europe and the
U.S., and refining margins declined.

Refiners in Sweden and the Netherlands reduced operating
rates after refining margins for Brent crude turned negative,
making processing of the most expensive benchmark grade
unprofitable. Producers in the North Sea curbed output earlier
this month after an undersea natural-gas pipeline was shut for
maintenance.

Atlas Copco posts record Q2, lifts capacity

(Reuters) - STOCKHOLM, July 16 - Compressor and machinery maker Atlas Copco reported better-than-expected quarterly pretax earnings on Monday and said it would invest in manufacturing capacity to meet strong demand.



The Sweden-based firm posted record pretax earnings of 3.22 billion Swedish crowns , compared with a year-ago 2.20 billion crowns and a mean forecast of 2.88 billion in a Reuters poll of analysts.

Sweden's Oskarshamn-3 Nuclear Reactor Start Delayed; No New Date Is Given

(Bloomberg) -- E.ON AG, Germany's biggest utility,
said the resumption of production has been delayed at its
Oskarshamn-3 nuclear reactor in Sweden, which was halted on July
8 following the discovery of a faulty valve.

The 1,150-megawatt unit will be halted for an unspecified
amount of time, the company said in a message distributed by the
Nord Pool ASA power exchange.

Nasdaq, Foiled on LSE Purchase, Will Acquire Sweden's OMX for $3.7 Billion

(Bloomberg) -- Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. agreed to buy
Sweden's OMX AB for 25.1 billion kronor ($3.7 billion) after
failed attempts to acquire London Stock Exchange Plc left the
U.S. company behind in the race to expand into Europe.

Nasdaq offered 208.1 kronor for each share in Stockholm-
based OMX, the companies said in statement today. Nasdaq will pay
with 0.502 new share and 94.3 kronor in cash for each share in
OMX, Europe's fifth-largest stock exchange.

Old Mutual Q1 profit up 5 pct, currency headwinds

(Reuters) - Insurer Old Mutual posted a 5 percent rise in first-quarter operating profit on Thursday, but said it expected exchange rates and infrastructure costs to continue to hold back growth this year.

South Africa's largest insurer, which is reporting first-quarter profits for the first time since it bought Sweden's Skandia last year, said adjusted operating profit, on an IFRS basis, was 398 million pounds.
