UPDATE 2-MannKind says struggling to find partner; shares fall

(Reuters) - "All things considered, we do not expect to reach a
partnership agreement in the near term," Chief Executive Alfred
Mann said on a conference call with analysts, referring to the
product, Technosphere insulin .




The company's shares were trading almost 15 percent down at
$9.04 in afternoon trade on the Nasdaq. They hit a year low of
$8.56 earlier in the day.

US STOCKS-Indexes pare gains after news from home lender

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 33.73
points, or 0.25 percent, at 13,392.04. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 3.38 points, or 0.23 percent, at
1,477.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 2.86
points, or 0.11 percent, at 2,580.42.

US STOCKS-Wall St trims gains, Nasdaq dips

(Reuters) - A rise in oil prices to a 12-month high also added to
nervousness.




The Dow Jones industrial average was up 47.63
points, or 0.36 percent, at 13,405.94. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 3.33 points, or 0.23 percent, at
1,477.24. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 0.06
points, or 0.00 percent, at 2,583.34.

US STOCKS-S&P, Nasdaq gain 1 pct as financials, energy advance

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 124.78
points, or 0.94 percent, at 13,390.25. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 18.22 points, or 1.25 percent, at
1,477.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 28.54
points, or 1.11 percent, at 2,590.78.

Melco PBL Hires Merrill Lynch to Sell $200 Million of Exchangeable Bonds

(Bloomberg) -- Melco PBL Entertainment (Macau) Ltd.,
a Macau casino venture between Lawrence Ho and Australian
billionaire James Packer, plans to raise $200 million selling
bond exchangeable into its shares, according to a sale document.

The Nasdaq-listed company plans to allow investors to
convert the bonds into its American depositary receipts at a
premium of between 40 percent and 50 percent to the closing price
of $12.28 on July 27, the document, which was sent to investors,
shows.

US STOCKS-Wall St slips at open as credit jitters remain

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 1.54
points, or 0.01 percent, at 13,472.03. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 1.49 points, or 0.10 percent, at
1,481.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 5.27
points, or 0.20 percent, at 2,594.07.

UPDATE 2-ICT Group posts Q2 loss, again cuts 2007 outlook

(Reuters) - ICT is expanding its operations in the Philippines, India
and Latin America while reducing its North American capacity.
It expects the changes to add additional costs in the second
half of 2007.




ICT shares were down more than 5 percent at $16.52 on the
Nasdaq in afternoon trade.

US STOCKS-Futures stay in red after durable goods

(Reuters) - S&P 500 futures were down 15.50 points, below fair
value, a mathematical formula that evaluates pricing by taking
into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration
on the contract.




Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 106
points, and Nasdaq 100 futures were off 15.75 points.

Baidu Shares Surge on Profit Increase, Forecast for Third-Quarter Revenue

(Bloomberg) -- Shares of Baidu.com Inc., operator
of China's most-used Internet search site, rose 19 percent after
the company said second-quarter profit surged and forecast
third-quarter sales that exceeded analysts' estimates.

The company's American depositary shares climbed $34.82 in
U.S. after-hours trading yesterday to $218.05. That will be the
largest one-day increase in more than a year if the gain is
maintained in Nasdaq Stock Market trading today.

UPDATE 1-Alexion Pharma Q2 loss narrows

(Reuters) - Shares of the biotech company jumped almost 15 percent to
$56.98 in morning trade on the Nasdaq. Earlier, they reached a
new year high of $57.45.




Second-quarter revenue, which came solely from Soliris,
soared to $9.8 million from $300,000 reported a year ago.

Infosys may announce European buy on Wednesday-TV

(Reuters) - A spokeswoman for Nasdaq-listed Infosys declined
comment.




Local media had earlier reported that Infosys, whose
customers include ABN AMRO , Goldman Sachs and
Airbus , was close to acquiring the finance and
accounting back-office services arm of Dutch consumer
electronics group Philips .

US stock futures point to steady start on Wall St

(Reuters) - The Standard & Poor's 500 staged its biggest weekly
fall in four weeks last week, driven in part by earnings misses
from Caterpillar and web search firm Google , which
fanned fears among investors who are already wary of the impact
of the melt-down in the subprime market on the economy.




By 0943 GMT in Europe, September S&P 500 futures were
up 0.1 percent, while Dow Jones futures rose 0.1 percent
and Nasdaq 100 futures were virtually flat.

US STOCKS-Indexes open down as earnings disappoint

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 58.45
points, or 0.42 percent, at 13,941.96. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 3.56 points, or 0.23 percent, at
1,549.52. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 10.94
points, or 0.40 percent, at 2,709.10.

US STOCKS-Indexes slide further, Nasdaq off 1 pct

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 91.21
points, or 0.65 percent, at 13,880.34. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 11.07 points, or 0.71 percent, at
1,538.30. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 27.08
points, or 1.00 percent, at 2,685.21.

US STOCKS-Dow ends at record on profits; Intel, Yahoo drop late

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, July 17 - The Dow closed at a record
on Tuesday, though retreating from the 14,000 mark it earlier
crossed for the first time, while the Nasdaq rose to a
six-and-a-half-year high on a cascade of
stronger-than-expected earnings.




But weakness in energy stocks and lingering worries about
the subprime mortgage market held back the advance of the
broader S&P 500, which closed virtually unchanged.

US STOCKS-S&P, Nasdaq fall on subprime worries, oil stocks

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, July 16 - The Standard & Poor's 500 and
Nasdaq composite stock indexes fell on Monday as worries about
a fallout from troubles in the subprime mortgage market
re-emerged, but the blue-chip Dow clung to gains on optimism
about earnings.




Energy stocks fell even as crude oil perched above $74 a
barrel on concern about dwindling profit margins for gasoline.
In addition, natural gas prices declined due to high inventory
levels and forecasts for below-normal temperatures in parts of
the country.

US STOCKS-S&P hits record as GE, data boost stocks

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 45.52
points, or 0.33 percent, to end unofficially at 13,907.25. The
Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.80 points, or 0.31
percent, to finish unofficially at 1,552.50. The Nasdaq
Composite Index was up 5.27 points, or 0.20 percent,
to close unofficially at 2,707.00.




For the week, the Dow closed up 2.16 percent, the S&P rose
1.43 percent and the Nasdaq gained 1.52 percent.
