European Stocks May Rise; ABB, Pernod Ricard May Gain on Earnings, Outlook

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks may advance for the
first time in three days after ABB Ltd., the world's largest builder
of electricity networks, and Apple Inc. of the U.S. reported
earnings and sales that were higher than analysts estimated.

Pernod Ricard SA will probably gain after the world's
second-largest liquor company said annual profit will top
analysts' expectations. Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe's biggest
oil company by market value, and European Aeronautic Defence &
Space Co., parent of planemaker Airbus SAS, also reported better-
than-expected profit.

Infosys may announce European buy on Wednesday-TV

(Reuters) - A spokeswoman for Nasdaq-listed Infosys declined
comment.




Local media had earlier reported that Infosys, whose
customers include ABN AMRO , Goldman Sachs and
Airbus , was close to acquiring the finance and
accounting back-office services arm of Dutch consumer
electronics group Philips .

Germany says no final deal on EADS mgmt changes

(Reuters) - Over the weekend, media reports said French and German
shareholders in the company had reached a deal whereby current
co-Chief Executive Thomas Enders would become the sole CEO,
while the chairman and head of Airbus would be French
appointees.




The deal would be part of a simplification of the company's
management structure, which has maintained a delicate balance
between the French and Germans since EADS was created in 2000.

Companies pledge at UN to cut carbon burdens

(Reuters) - More than 150 companies including Airbus, Coca-Cola and IKEA pledged on Friday to reduce the carbon burden of their operations in a voluntary pact urging governments to do more to confront climate change.

Drugmakers Novartis and Pfizer, mining giants Anglo American and Rio Tinto, and the luxury goods specialist LVMH were among the 153 firms who committed themselves to greater energy efficiency.

Dubai International Fund Acquires 3.1 Percent Stake in Airbus Parent EADS

(Bloomberg) -- Dubai International Capital, a
private-equity fund owned by the emirate's ruling sheikh, bought
3.12 percent of European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co., parent
of Airbus SAS.

The company, which purchased the stake through its $2
billion Global Strategic Equities Fund, didn't disclose the
terms of the transaction in a statement today. The company said
it will not seek an EADS board seat or take an active role in
management.

Boeing CEO hails Paris orders, rival's resurgence

(Reuters) - Airbus has claimed orders for 387 planes so far at the show, compared with Boeing's 109. Boeing's orders tend to be more evenly spread out over the year, whereas Airbus's often come in bunches at major air shows.




The latest order figures, if classified as firm, would even up the race for sales this year between the two firms. Boeing outsold Airbus more than two to one in the first five months of the year.

Airbus seen announcing Qatar, Emirates deals

(Reuters) - Airbus kicks off what is expected to be a busy week of commercial announcements with a news conference set for 10 a.m. with Qatar Airways, Dubai-based Emirates and others mooted as possible customers to announce major plane deals.




Emirates is set to place a provisional order worth more than $3 billion for 10 Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft, industry sources said. The order will give a boost from the aircraft's biggest customer to the A380 program after a two-year delay.

Aeroflot will revive $2 bln deal with Boeing: paper

(Reuters) - In March, Aeroflot announced plans to buy 22 planes from rival producer Airbus despite the fact that the first A350 aircraft may be delivered much later than 2010 - a deadline that Boeing said it would be able to meet.




Kommersant cited industry sources as saying the deal with Boeing will be revived at Russia's landmark economic forum in St Petersburg on Saturday with Boeing and Aeroflot signing a deal for the delivery of planes.
