Intel, Cisco, J&J, Growth Stocks Lure Value Funds as Price Ratios Converge

(Bloomberg) -- Intel Corp., Cisco Systems Inc. and
Johnson & Johnson, perennial favorites of money managers seeking
U.S. stocks with the fastest profit growth, are becoming staples
for so-called value investors.

Shares of growth companies in the Standard & Poor's 500
Index trade at an average 16.3 times estimated earnings, while
value stocks, those priced at a discount to the market or their
historical average, trade at 14 times profits. The gap between
them, now 2.3 points, has narrowed from 25.5 at the beginning of
the decade, data compiled by Bloomberg show.

European Stocks May Drop; Technology, Energy, Financial Shares May Decline

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks may fall, paced by
technology shares after Intel Corp. and Yahoo! Inc. of the U.S.
said competition is hurting profit. U.S.-traded securities of Arm
Holdings Plc slipped.

Financial stocks might drop after Bear Stearns Cos. told
investors there's ``little value left'' in its two failed hedge
funds. Energy shares including BP Plc and Total SA will probably
follow declines by their U.S. counterparts yesterday after crude
oil dropped from an 11-month high.

Most U.S. Stocks Gain, Led by Energy Producers and Technology Companies

(Bloomberg) -- Most U.S. stocks rose, led by
energy and technology companies, after the price of oil jumped
above $70 a barrel and analysts upgraded Intel Corp. and Cisco
Systems Inc.

Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp. and Marathon Oil Corp.
led fuel companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index to the
top gain among 10 industries. About seven stocks gained for
every four that fell on the New York Stock Exchange.

US STOCKS-Wall St rallies on tamer inflation, Intel

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 15 - U.S. stocks climbed on Friday
on reassuring inflation news and fresh optimism about the tech
sector after an upgrade of bellwether Intel.




A 4.1 percent jump in the shares of Intel Corp.
triggered an advance in technology stocks after Goldman Sachs
raised its rating on the world's dominant chip maker, to "buy"
from "neutral." A flurry of deal news also lent support,
following a report that the New York Mercantile Exchange
was exploring a sale. Shares of the NYMEX, the world's
largest energy market, rose 2.9 percent.

US STOCKS-Futures rise on Intel upgrade; CPI on tap

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 15 - U.S. stock futures signaled a
higher open on Friday, with technology shares likely to
underpin gains after a broker upgrade of Intel Corp. ,
but investors were cautious ahead of key U.S. inflation data.




Intel shares jumped 2 percent in electronic trade after
Goldman Sachs raised its rating on the chipmaker, a component
of the Dow Jones industrial average , to "buy" from
"neutral."

U.S. Stocks Fall, Led by Technology Companies; McDonald's, Intel Decline

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks fell for the first time
in four days after Analog Devices Inc. said profit may trail
analysts' estimates and former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan
Greenspan warned the stock market in China faces a ``dramatic
contraction.''

McDonald's Corp., Intel Corp. and International Business
Machines Corp. posted the steepest declines in the Dow Jones
Industrial Average, while technology shares led the Standard &
Poor's 500 Index's retreat. Analog Devices, a maker of
semiconductors used in everything from mobile phones to cars,
fell the most in nine months.

European Stocks Advance, Paced by Deutsche Telekom and STMicroelectronics

(Bloomberg) -- European stocks gained as rising
metal prices lifted mining companies and investors speculated
Deutsche Telekom AG may spin off its U.S. business, stoking
expectations mergers will increase in the telephone industry.

Deutsche Telekom, the region's largest phone company, climbed
the most in three months. Tele2 AB rallied to a four-week high as
Morgan Stanley said the Swedish telecommunications provider was
the ``best restructuring story.'' STMicroelectronics NV climbed
the most in 10 months on plans to form a company with Intel Corp.
