US STOCKS-Indexes up on Boeing, Amazon.com; housing eyed

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, July 25 - U.S. stocks rose on
Wednesday, bouncing back from the prior session's tumble, as
solid profits and outlooks from Boeing Co and Amazon.com
Inc. quashed concerns about the housing slump.




Financial company shares, which declined sharply on
Tuesday, also underpinned the market's rebound, with Citigroup
rising 1.1 percent to $49.87.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Advance on Earnings; Amazon, Boeing Shares Gain

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rose after
profits that topped analysts' estimates at Boeing Co. and
Amazon.com helped assuage concerns that sent equities to their
worst drop in four months.

Amazon, the world's biggest online retailer, rallied on
earnings that nearly tripled due to curbed technology spending.
Boeing, the second-largest commercial-jet maker, gained after
it said it delivered on more airliners.

Air Berlin orders 25 Boeing 787s, worth $4 bln

(Reuters) - Boeing said it now has 677 firm orders for 787s. The plane is scheduled for its first test flight in August or September and first delivery in May next year.

Boeing may invest in Japan's Mitsubishi jet: report

(Reuters) - Boeing, which dominates commercial jet sales in Japan, places much strategic importance on maintaining its close ties with Japanese aircraft parts manufacturers and airlines.




Mitsubishi Heavy, the nation's biggest machinery maker, is one of the key suppliers for Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing CEO hails Paris orders, rival's resurgence

(Reuters) - Airbus has claimed orders for 387 planes so far at the show, compared with Boeing's 109. Boeing's orders tend to be more evenly spread out over the year, whereas Airbus's often come in bunches at major air shows.




The latest order figures, if classified as firm, would even up the race for sales this year between the two firms. Boeing outsold Airbus more than two to one in the first five months of the year.

US STOCKS-Wall St gains as U.S. bond yields slip

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 13 - U.S. stocks advanced on
Wednesday as a pullback in benchmark bond yields fueled a
rebound in interest-rate-sensitive shares including banks,
utilities and home builders.




Data pointing to strength in U.S. consumer spending also
reassured investors about the economy's health, lifting shares
of big manufacturers such as plane maker Boeing Co. and
those of consumer-oriented companies such as Altria Group
.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Decline; Caterpillar, Alcoa Shares Fall in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures dropped
before economic reports later this week that may provide clues
about the Federal Reserve's next move on interest rates.

Caterpillar Inc., the world's biggest maker of earthmoving
equipment, and Alcoa Inc., the second-largest aluminum producer,
declined. Shares of Boeing Co. climbed in Europe after the
world's second-largest maker of commercial aircraft won an order
valued at about $3 billion from OAO Aeroflot.

Aeroflot will revive $2 bln deal with Boeing: paper

(Reuters) - In March, Aeroflot announced plans to buy 22 planes from rival producer Airbus despite the fact that the first A350 aircraft may be delivered much later than 2010 - a deadline that Boeing said it would be able to meet.




Kommersant cited industry sources as saying the deal with Boeing will be revived at Russia's landmark economic forum in St Petersburg on Saturday with Boeing and Aeroflot signing a deal for the delivery of planes.

Treasuries Rise as High Yields, Declines in China's Stocks Attract Bids

(Bloomberg) -- Treasuries gained as investors were
attracted by interest rates near their high for the year and the
safety of government debt after China's benchmark stock index
fell 7.7 percent and as U.S. equity futures declined.

The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield reached a nine-month
high June 1 of 4.96 percent. U.S. stock futures for companies
including Boeing Co., the world's second-biggest maker of
commercial aircraft, and JPMorgan Chase & Co., the third-largest
U.S. bank, declined.
