Brazil Stocks Gain, Led by Vale do Rio Doce, CSN; Airlines Gol, Tam Fall

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for the
second time in three days, led by steel and mining companies, on
speculation that diversification will boost their profits.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange added 305.90, or 0.5 percent, to 57,748.64 as of 11:43
a.m. New York time. Cia. Vale do Rio Doce, the world's biggest
iron-ore producer, led the gains.

Brazil's Bovespa Gains on Rates, Led by Petrobras; Mexico's ICA Advances

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index had its
biggest gain in a week after the central bank cut borrowing costs,
bolstering confidence in company profits.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 601.36, or 1 percent, to a record 58,157.21. State-
controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA led the gains.
Mexico's Bolsa index also gained.

Petrobras, Porto Seguro and Votorantim Celulose: Brazilian Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
fifth day, led by state-controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro
SA.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 362.46, or 0.7 percent, to a record 55,733.67 as of
9:32 a.m. New York time.

Brazil Bovespa Rises to Record, Led by Vale, on U.S. and Asian Expansions

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose to a
record, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio Doce, on speculation
growth in the U.S. and Asia will boost demand for the country's
commodity exports.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 539.54, or 1 percent, 54,931.60 as of 11:30 a.m. New
York time, eclipsing its June 18 high.

Brazilian Stocks Rise, Led by Eletrobras; Gerdau Gains on Expansion Plan

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index gained for
the first time in three days, led by Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras
SA, as the approval of a nuclear power plant signaled government
support for infrastructure projects that will spur the economy.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 201.88, or 0.3 percent, to 54,243.45 as of 12:27 p.m.
New York time.

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index fell for a
second day, led by state-controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro
SA.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange fell 426.07, or 0.8 percent, to 53,841.03 as of 10:09 a.m.
New York time.

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index fell for the
third time in four days, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio
Doce.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange fell 308.56, or 0.6 percent, to 54,348.32 as of 9:45 a.m.
New York time.

Brazil Stocks Fall, Led by Petrobras, on Strike Concern; Televisa Declines

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index fell for a
second day on investor concern that a possible strike at state-
controlled oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA will hurt output.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange fell 614.48, or 1.1 percent, to 54,029.24. Petrobras,
whose shares account for about one-sixth of the index, fell 85
centavos, or 1.7 percent, to 50.79 reais, declining for the first
time in nine days.
