Nickel Heads for Second Weekly Drop in London on Stockpiles; Lead Rises

(Bloomberg) -- Nickel headed for a second
consecutive weekly decline, dropping to a nine-month low, as
stockpiles of the metal rose, expanding supply. Lead, zinc and
copper also dropped.

Inventories of nickel tracked by the London Metal Exchange
grew 330 metric tons to 15,138 tons, the exchange said today in
a daily report. Stockpiles have risen fivefold since Feb. 6,
when they were at a 15-year low.

Lead Stockpiles on LME Decline to Three-Month Low; Nickel Inventories Rise

(Bloomberg) -- Lead stockpiles monitored by the
London Metal Exchange fell to the lowest in more than three
months. Nickel inventories rose to a 13-month high.

The lead inventories dropped 450 metric tons, or 1.1
percent, to 39,000 tons, the LME said today in a daily report.
That's the lowest since April 19.

Lead hits record, nickel slips, copper eases

(Reuters) - Lead prices on the London Metal Exchange have almost doubled this year, while nickel has moved the other way.




Benchmark copper was subdued with the market focused on possible mine strikes, though stocks in LME warehouses rose.

Lead Rises to Record in London on Ivernia Supply Concern; Nickel Declines

(Bloomberg) -- Lead rose to a record for a fourth
session in London on expectations Ivernia Inc., producer of about
3 percent of the world's mined supply, will extend the suspension
of exports from a port in Australia. Nickel and copper fell.

Ivernia's plan to ship product from the port of Fremantle,
following the March 12 suspension at Esperance, was opposed by
Fremantle's mayor. The metal, used in car batteries, has soared
62 percent since the suspension, ordered amid an investigation
into lead poisoning at the port.

Lead Price Advances to a Record $3,000 a Ton on London Metal Exchange

(Bloomberg) -- Lead gained to $3,000 a metric ton,
the highest ever, on the London Metal Exchange.

The contract for delivery in three months on the LME gained
$55, or 1.9 percent, to $2,990 a ton as of 9:58 a.m. local time.
Earlier, it gained as much as 2.2 percent to $3,000.

Euroyen futures rally on Fukui's cautious remarks

(Reuters) - Lead December euroyen futures jumped as much 5 basis
points to 99.000, poised for the largest one-day gain in nine
months, before slipping back to 98.990.




Swap contracts on the overnight call rate cut
the chance of a July rate hike to 27 percent from 35 percent
earlier in the day, while the chance of a move in August dipped
to 84 percent from 89 percent. A hike by the September meeting is
fully priced in.

Ireland's Thirdforce to buy U.S rival MindLeaders

(Reuters) - "The proceeds of the placing will be utilised by the company
to satisfy the cash element of the consideration, to contribute
towards the discharge of costs associated with the proposed
transactions and to provide working capital to fund the growth
plans of the enlarged group," it said in a statement.
Thirdforce said the owners of MindLeaders would receive 85
percent of their shares and cash when the deal was finalised
with the remainder payable 21 months later.
